Barcelona have had a change of management and with it, it looks as though the club itself is set for a big change in terms of player personnel. A mass exodus is set to begin at Barca with Alexis Sanchez, Cesc Fabregas and Dani Alves topping the list of potential departures. It’s not often a club this big let go of some important stars, but if Luis Enrique (new Barca boss) says that it’s time for a change then change is needed.
The Express have picked up on the fact that Fabregas, Sanchez and Alves could up for sale this summer and have suggested that a scramble is set to take place between all the big clubs in England and Europe. Especially Sanchez and Fabregas who have enjoyed a good season at the club. Statistically anyway.
There’s no getting away from the fact that all three of these players will improve any team they walk into. If Chelsea were to acquire all three, their summer business could be near enough complete. Chelsea would still need a striker to complete their business though.
However, the combination of Cesc Fabregas, Alexis Sanchez and either one of Eden Hazard, Oscar, Andre Schurrle or Willian, then the need for a striker could be reduced.
Alexis Sanchez has had a very productive season in front of goal this season. 19 goals and 11 assists in 43 games this season are some very good statistics. But, it’s his general play that’s earned him the plaudits as he’s terrorised defences with his quick feet and plethora of tricks.
Cesc Fabregas wasn’t as productive as he’d like to have been this season, but he still ranked highly on the total amount of assists made. 13 in the La Liga and 1 in the Champions League. This is in addition to the nine goals he’s scored in both the competitions together.
Dani Alves has been linked with a move away from the club since January and Chelsea could use him as a fantastic alternative to Branislav Ivanovic. However, his versatility could mean him pushing up into right midfield. Whatever Mourinho decides to do with him, he’ll provide the kind of depth to win titles.
