Should Terry Take Up Option And Leave Chelsea?

Like a lot of people, John Terry has been a huge factor of Premier League football while I have been growing up and I find it remarkable that he has performed so strongly for so long. However, The Sun are now reporting that Galatasaray, managed by former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini, is ready to make a move for the Blues skipper.

But should he go?

Terry is having a fine season. After worming his way back into the Stamford Bridge side after spending a frustrated year in the background under Rafa Benitez. Jose Mourinho is a man who knows how to get the best out of the former England international.

He has played every single minute of Chelsea’s Premier League football this season and has been integral to their early success. Not only has he shown how capable he is at the back – averaging nine defensive actions per game and winning 44/64 of his headers, but he has also installed composure back into the backline.

Terry has completed 92% of his passes this term, a tally only Ryan Bertrand has topped, and he has scored once.

My reckoning is, if it’s not broken then why try to fix it? And it certainly isn’t broken this season in west London, so Terry should stay put and work hard for a new contract.
