Being a fan of the Dutch league and a nine-year season ticket holder at Stamford Bridge, here are five players who I would like Chelsea to sign from Eredivisie.
1) Alfred Finnbogason – Heerenveen
In my eyes, Chelsea are lacking in the attacking berths and could do with a natural goal-scorer. One man who can offer that is 24-year-old Finnbogason who has scored 11 goals in just nine appearances this season.
2) Graziano Pelle – Feyenoord
Another man who could inject goals into the side is Pelle, who has helped himself to 10 goals in 11 games this term. He has also claimed two assists, which is impressive consider he is the spearhead of the attack.
3) Dusan Tadic – FC Twente
Although Chelsea are fully-stocked when it comes to attacking midfielders, this man is surely worth looking into. He has five goals and six assists in just 10 appearances this season and is still only 24 years of age. Tadic can play on either flank and is a naturally skilful player.
4) Jeffrey Gouweleeuw – AZ Alkmaar
A central defender now. The 22-year-old has completed 38 tackles, made 46 interceptions and contributed 46 clearances in just 11 games, as well as completing 83.2% of his passes.
5) Luc Castaignos – FC Twente
The former Inter forward has scored six goals and created two assists so far this season as he continues to rip apart the Dutch topflight with his imposing presence.
