Blues face Pulis’s powerful Potters this weekend: The Odds

Chelsea are 1.36 with bet365 and Boylesports to beat Stoke at Stamford Bridge this weekend, and everything suggest they will have little difficulty doing so.

The Blues currently top the league after three wins and a draw, and face a side who find it almost impossible to win.

The Potters have drawn all four of their games so far, and Tony Pulis’ men have failed to score in each of their last four visits to the Bridge in all competitions.

They have also scored only three goals in eight Premier League meetings with the Blues and won none of their last 11 matches on the road – netting
just six goals in those games.

Throw in the fact that Chelsea have have won eight and lost just one of their last 11 PL games at home, and have won eight and lost none of the last 10 games against Stoke in all competitions and you can see why it’s hard to envisage anything other than a comfortable victory for Roberto Di Matteo’s men.

The most frequent scoreline between the two sides has been 2-0, and that outcome is priced up 6.5 with bet365 and Paddy Power.

Given the fact that Stoke are likely to defend right from the off that does look a fair call and worth a punt, but when it comes to choosing who will break the deadlock it’s much harder to choose.

Cheslsea have a bundle of attacking talent at their disposal with the likes of Frank Lampard, Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, Sturridge, Torres and now Oscar, and all are more than capable of popping up and getting on the scoresheet.

Lampard is always a good place to start given that he is the penalty taker, and at a standout 7 with bet365 he appeals most in the first goalscorer market.

I fully expect Chelsea to win this without reply, and the 2.2 on offer with Paddy Power for them to win to nil looks a knocking bet.
