Euro 2012 Predictions: Greece vs Czech Rep + Poland vs Russia

Greece vs Czech Republic (1700 GMT)

Petr Cech and his Czech teammates come into this game needing at least a point to stay in contention to qualify, but know a win will be a massive boost at the 4-1 drubbing handed to them by Russia in matchday 1.

Their opponents were overrun by hosts Poland, but came back to draw despite going down to 10 men. A win for them would put them in a great position to qualify, especially if Russia can beat Poland in the later kick off.

Both teams met in the Euro 2012 semi-finals, where Greece went on to record a shock victory, beating Portugal in the final. However, I can see them being undone today. Arshavin ran the show early on against Russia, and should be do the same, they will need to take their chances, which i think they will.

Prediction: Greece 0 Czech Republic 2 (Pilar, Rosicky)

Russia vs Poland (1945 GMT)

Russia destroyed the Czechs on matchday 1, despite their star striker hitting 7 shots off target. Dzagoev ran the show, and the Poles will have to watch out for him in this game, and im backing Kershakov to show fans what they were missing from the first match.

Poland could rue the missed chances from their opening game, and will be without Szczesny who was sent off in that match-up with Greece.

Lewandowski will be the key man again, and looked confident of scoring a goal or two, which should make this an interesting match.

Russia only conceded once against the Czechs, but they were guilty of throwing away chances, and I can’t see the same happening here, so this could turn into a goalfest.

Im backing Russia to break Polish hearts though, and I think this is a game not to be missed.

Prediction: Russia 3 (Dzagoev, Kerzakov 2) Poland 1 (Lewandowski)
