Euro 2012 Predictions: Germany vs Greece

After 45 minutes of that Greece vs Poland game, it’s hard to believe that this fixture is taking place. They rallied together and Karagounis and co. somehow overcame the odds and knocked out Russia, beating them 1-0 and sending them flying through.

Reality is about to hit them though, as the hard working German team swept aside the Group of Death, finishing with 9 points, although at one point in the final game, they were just a goal away from elimination, until the Danish defence broke down.

Many are backing them to win it, and we could be set for an England vs Germany semi-final, providing the English beat Italy, as this game seems a mere formality. However, the Greeks are used to being the underdog. Many could forget the events of Euro 2004 where they beat Portugal on their own patch in the final, and of course that night against Russia days ago.

They will be without their skipper though, a second booking for ranting like a psychiatric patient, could be vital, and would’ve made this game much more interesting.

The first goal in massive here. Germany have taken the lead in their last 13 competitive fixtures, and won every single one. A Greek goal is what the neutrals will be wanting, and then prepare for the German onslaught, and a stubborn Greek defensive unit.

Germany are just 1/3 for a win, so other markets will be where the money is, especially on the handicaps.
