Chelsea are a top priced 1.33 with
Betfred and
Paddy Power to round of their season with a win over Blackburn at The Bridge.
The Blues put in an appalling defensive display at Liverpool on Tuesday, which means that their hopes of playing in next season’s Champions League rest on them beating Bayern Munich in next weekend’s final.
With Blackburn relegated on Monday night when beaten by Wigan, it means that in reality this game has nothing to offer both sides.
However on all known form and stats it should be Chelsea who come out on top and round off what has been a marvellous end to the season for manager Roberto Di Matteo.
With Ramires, Meireles, Ivanovic and Terry all suspended for the Munich game it means that they will all feature and give Chelsea a stronger look than would be expected.
They have won 13, drawn three and lost just one of the last 17 Premier League games against Rovers and the visitors have failed to score in their last five visits to Stamford Bridge.
In fact, Steve Keane’s men have have failed to score in nine of their last 11 PL encounters with Chelsea and only netted one goal in each of the other two matches!
That makes the standout 2.5 on offer with
Paddy Power about Chelsea winning to nil look well worth a punt – especially as they are as short as 1.95 in a place to do so.
Torres has scored seven goals in 1089 minutes of football under Di Matteo, compared to four in 1893 under Villas-Boas and one in 1008 under Ancelotti (all comps), and heads the first goalscorer market at a top priced 4.33 with
bet365 alongside Drogba.
That looks a fair enough price for both players depending on who starts, but I am going to suggest having a small wager on Ivanovic at 21 with
Betfred,
Boylesports and
Paddy Power.
Blackburn are one of only two teams he has scored against more than once (2 goals) in the Premiership so he looks worth a shot at the odds on offer.
Chelsea to win 2-0 or 3-0 is my idea of the outcome, and those scorelines can be backed at 8 and 9 respectively with
Paddy Power. Split stakes on both should hopefully return some decent profit if all goes to plan.
