Wolves vs Chelsea – Preview: Time to forget 2011

Chelsea and their fans will be delighted to see the back of 2011, having spent most of the last decade winning last year was one to forget.

With rumours of a mutiny the Blues camp Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas needs to get his team firing.

He is expected to rotate his squad with Frank Lampard and Fernando Torres likely to start.

Like the defeat against Villa, Branislav Ivanovic and John Obi Mikel are both still out injured.

The home team will be relieved to hear that striker Steven Fletcher is fit after taking a knock against Bolton.

The two wew signings Eggert Jonsson and Emmanuel Frimpong are fit and available, but Ronald Zubar is unlikely to feature due to a knee injury and Nenad Milijas missing the tie due to being suspended.

Head-to-Head

Last season Wolves won 1-0 in the same fixture last season, the only goal of the game was Jose Bosingwa’s fifth minute own goal.

The previous trip to Molinex in September 2003, Chelsea enjoyed a 5-0 win. On that day Lamps opened the scoring before goals from Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink and Damien Duff, then a Hernan Crespo brace finished the rout.
