Atletico in for old boy???

As Fernando Torres’ goal drought continues the vultures are starting to circle as they look to get a good deal, the latest club linked with the Spaniard is his old club Atletico Madrid.

The Spanish international set the Premier League alight when he moved to Liverpool but since coming back from the World Cup in South Africa and moving to Stamford Bridge he has not been the same player.

His statistics of one goal in 23 appearances speaks for itself, with last Saturday’s introduction of Daniel Sturridge, it is thought Andre Villas-Boas could be ready to take hit on the huge £50 million fee and listen to offers.

His old club saw Sergio Aguero move to Manchester City and Diego Forlan join Inter Milan in the summer, to Man City and Inter Milan, they did bring in Radamel Falcao from FC Porto but new boss Gregorio Manzano is keen to bring in another striker.

There is also that link of Manzano with Torres as the tactician was in charge at Atletico when Torres had his best season back in 2003/04.

Another club believed to be interested in the once prolific goal scorer is AC Milan, the Italian giants could make a part-exchange move for the Spaniard.
