Chelsea are still keen to sign Alvaro Pereira but have been left frustrated after struggling to agree terms with Porto.
The Blues want to sign the versatile defender, who starred under Andre Villas-Boas at Porto and then again during Uruguay’s Copa America victory.
The player’s agent confirmed that the two clubs are in deep discussions about a transfer, but it looks like the move has broken down as Chelsea do not want to pay the £26million release clause and the Portuguese outfit are unwilling lower the asking price.
