Chelsea make £15m bid for Anderlecht’s teenage star Romelu Lukaku

The Blues have finally made an official bid for the highly rated Belgium international, the fee is believed to more than £15 million.                                                                                                                                                                                                                

The Belgian club had confirmed last month that there had been discussions with Chelsea but both clubs had different ideas on the valuation of the rising star.                                                                                                                                                                  

Whilst it is thought Lukaku is keen to join Chelsea, there are issues over the high percentage of the fee that would be due to his advisers – one of whom is his father. The exact figure is unknown but it is believed to be worth up to 25 per cent meaning Anderlecht want to get as high a price as possible.                                                                                                                    

Naturally Roman and his team do not want to pay over the odds for a developing player, which is likely to lead to a fee plus various add-on clauses.
