Blues agree a fee for young Belgian keeper

The Blues have agreed a substantial fee with Belgian champions Genk for their highly-rated keeper Thibaut Courtois, if the player can agree personal terms then the 19-year-old, will become Andre Villas-Boas’s first signing.
Despite his young age, the 6ft 6in player made 40 appearances for Genk last season and starred as they won the league.
Naturally, Andre Villas-Boas is not willing to say too much: “There is an agreement between the two clubs, let’s wait for him to agree terms.
Before adding: “It seems unfair for me to make any comment on him but as soon as he is a Chelsea player we will see what kind of future he has.”
There is no doubt that this player has an excellent future ahead of him, should he make the move to Stamford Bridge, an initial loan move either back to Genk, or to another team where he will enjoy and benefit from more first-team football, so he can challenge Petr Cech for the number one spot.
