What the papers are saying!!!

There has been a lot said about the Blues this week … the majority of which is was about possible player joining the Stamford Bridge party

As always there are lots of rumours, but which ones will come true?!?!?!

Monday

The week started with QPR’s Moroccan midfield star Adel Taarabt claiming that both Chelsea and Arsenal have sounded him out about a potenial move away from Loftus Road – L’Equipe

Some interesting news in the Metro, that Barcelona could sell Fernando Torres’ Spanish strike partner David Villa to Chelsea, which would free up funds to make a move for Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas.

TalkSPORT ran an interesting story that the Blues are on the hunt for new scouts following the departure of talent spotter Frank Arnesen.

Tuesday

The start of the gossip surrounding Andre Villas-Boas’ possible move for £26 million rated Colombian striker Falcao, The Independent stated that the Blues would move for him once the Porto coach makes joins.

The Daily Mirror ran with the story that Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola is wanted by Birmingham as replacement for Alex McLeish who deflected to Aston Villa.

Wednesday

Reports in Italy in the Corriere dello Sport wreported that AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani said that his team were not going to make a move for Didier Drogba: “We are covered in attack and hence, Drogba will not arrive.”

The Sun reported that one Blue attracting attention is David Luiz who is thought to be wanted by European Champions Barcelona who could offer £27.5m offer.

According to the Daily Mirror Andre Villas-Boas is going to spend approximately £80m as he rebuilds the team – Some ohis key targets include Porto duo Falcao and Joao Moutinho plus Brazilian forward Neymar.

Then in the Daily Star, they feel Villas-Boas is thought to be targeting Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto’o which would see both Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka being sold.

Thursday

Bad news appeared on Thursday as TalkSPORT reported that Chelsea will miss out on Santos forward Neymar, as the Brazilian teenager insisted he is likely to join Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Another Chelsea youngster could be on his way, the Blues value England Under-21 defender Ryan Bertrand at £5m. Rather than selling him immediately he may be sent on loan to one of Bolton, Fulhamm Nottingham Forestm West Brom and Wolves – The Sun

Friday

More rumours surrounding Santos forward Neymar with the Daily Express reporting that the Blues will not pay £45m for the young star.

The Daily Mirror said that whilst a fee has not yet been agreed with Porto, their striker Radamel Falcao is happy to link up with his old having accepted a £5m-a-year contract in principle.

Even if Falcao does join, then Villas-Boas is keen for Didier Drogba to stay according to the Telegraph.

Saturday

Despite earlier reports TalkSPORT ran with the story that AC Milan want to sign Alex, Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou according to Milan vice president Galliani.

The Independent felt that Guus Hiddink blew his chance of taking over at Stamford Bridge because he insisted on re-hiring Ray Wilkins if he became the manager.

Sunday

Should Luka Modric make the move from Spurs then Gareth Bale will demand to leave Tottenham according to the Sunday Mirror.

As Barcelona have not yet completed the signing of Udinese’s Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez, Chelsea have now joined the race to sign him according to the News of the World – There is also a rumour that new boss Andre Villas-Boas has already spoken to him.

It is still early days but with Liverpool and Manchester having already shown their hands it is time for the new blood to start arriving so that the whiole squad is in place come the start of pre-season training.
