Chelsea to bid £70million for Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
Chelsea are willing to bid £70million for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic if their transfer ban is overturned, according to the Mirror (h/t Sun).
The Blues were handed a two-window transfer ban and were unable to sign any players in the summer.
However, their case will be heard by the Court of Arbitration on 20th November, and they don’t want to waste time in strengthening the side (h/t Sun).
The Mirror (h/t Sun) adds that Milinkovic-Savic is on the top of their wish list. Manchester United were also keen on signing the Serbian midfielder but couldn’t land the 24-year-old.
Milinkovic-Savic has scored three goals and has provided four assists in all competitions for the Serie A side. The Serbian scored five goals and provided three assists last season and featured in the World Cup.
Chelsea were unable to spend in the summer and it will be interesting to see what our plans are should the transfer ban get lifted.
Lampard doing an excellent job
Frank Lampard has done an excellent job without signing any players during his first season as the manager.
The former midfielder has helped us to third place in the league and we have a great chance of qualifying from our Champions League group too. We are playing great football and the addition of more quality players could take us to the next level.
