Chelsea star rejects hefty offer from China – decides to stay put at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea star Willian turns down China move

Chelsea winger Willian has turned down a sumptuous offer from Shangai Greenland Shenhua, according to Daily Express.

The deal could have earned him more than £30million but the 31-year-old has decided to stay put at Stamford Bridge.

The Chinese outfit tried to coerce the Brazilian with an expensive deal, which included a rented flat and two chauffeur-driven cars. In the end though, it was to no avail.

Earlier, the Blues also rejected bids from FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, the clubs which have been keeping tabs on the Brazilian for a long time. Willian has been an integral part of the Londoners since he moved to Stamford Bridge in 2013, playing more than 200 games. He has also earned 66 caps for Brazil’s senior team.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk man racked up 8 goals and 14 assists in the previous season and has appeared as a substitute on 11 occasions.

Though he failed to ingrain his name as an assured starter under Maurizio Sarri, Willian remains confident that he can prove himself to the new manager. Sarri left Stamford bridge to become the manager of Juventus. He led the Blues to Europa League glory.
