Chelsea enter race for Paris Saint-Germain right-back Thomas Meunier
Chelsea have joined the race for Paris Saint-Germain right-back Thomas Meunier, according to RMC Sport (h/t Football.london).
The 27-year-old Belgian international has been ever-present in the PSG’s side this season and won another Ligue 1 title recently.
There also is interest from rivals Arsenal for the Belgian, and the report claims that Manchester United have been linked with the 27-year-old for a while.
Meunier would enter the last year of his contract next season, and the report claims that PSG are willing to let go of the defender should a team bid around £26m.
Chelsea could do with quality in several areas
The Blues have Cesar Azpilicueta and Davide Zappacosta as the right-backs in the current side, however, the Spaniard is preferred in the position.
Spending £26m on a quality defender like Meunier isn’t a bad shout. However, Chelsea could do with another striker and a midfielder or two as we have lacked a cutting edge this season.
The Blues have had a mixed season under Maurizio Sarri but are still in the race for the top four.
Tottenham’s loss to West Ham has given us a chance of matching their points tally after this round of fixtures, though we have to defeat Manchester United on Sunday.

United are also in the race for the top four, and it will make for an interesting watch.
