Chelsea are interested in the services of Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, as per the Mirror. The 24-year-old moved to the Cottagers from Newcastle United for a fee of £22million (h/t Mirror) and has been in superb form. The Serb has netted four goals in five league games so far.
The report adds that a pair of Italian clubs is also interested in the striker. Manager Maurizio Sarri started with Olivier Giroud against Cardiff, meaning Alvaro Morata is indeed droppable from the team. However, the former is 31 years old now, indicating that Chelsea might need a new striker soon.
Mitrovic has done a decent job for the Cottagers and it will be important to see how he performs in the Premier League under Slavisa Jokanovic.
The Serbian struggled for goals during his spell at Newcastle but he has completely turned it around at Fulham. With Morata struggling for goals, Sarri might as well purchase the 24-year-old centre-forward.
If we look at the bigger picture, however, Michy Batshuayi is out on loan and he might have a future in the club. So, it is up to Sarri and the club to decide.

Signing Mitrovic would not be a bad option, as he is experienced and could be the perfect backup striker. But he lacks inconsistency, which may make Batshuayi a better alternative from next season.
