The Guardian reports that Real Madrid are interested in Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso.
The report adds that the Spaniard played just one game for the La Liga side in 2010 before making the decision to join Bolton Wanderers.
The 27-year-old, who currently earns wages in the region of £90,000-a-week, then joined Fiorentina before a return to the Premier League with Sunderland on loan. Chelsea signed the Spaniard from the Italian side and Alonso has scored 14 times for us in the last two seasons.
The report from the Guardian further adds that Chelsea might not accept any offers for the full-back given that we cannot sign players till January.
Alonso has been one of our more consistent players and losing him would throw a spanner into our system this season.
Even if Real Madrid are interested in the player, we cannot afford to lose the 27-year-old at any price. Finding a replacement for him within the team would be difficult and waiting till January to sign another left-back would be a huge error from the management.
Alonso played in our win over Huddersfield and should line-up for our next clash against bitter rivals Arsenal.

The Spaniard has played some of his best football at Chelsea and we cannot think about selling him at the moment.
