Gonzalo Higuain’s agent has delivered a major blow to Chelsea’s hopes of signing him as the Argentine striker is happy at Juventus.
Nicolas, the brother of the striker, was quoted by Sky Italia (h/t Daily Mail) and stated that the 30-year-old striker hasn’t spoken to any club.
“At the moment we haven’t spoken to any other clubs, as we have a three-year contract with Juventus.
“He is very happy in the city, at the club, with the coach and the tactical system. All these things people talked about other clubs are just rumours, we haven’t spoken to anybody.”
The 30-year-old Higuain had earlier stated that he would like to play in the Premier League and reports had suggested that a swap deal involving Alvaro Morata could be done to bring the Argentine to Stamford Bridge.
Maurizio Sarri is expected to take over from Antonio Conte this season and Nicolas added that even though Gonzalo sees Sarri as a “football father”, the Argentine striker has no real chance of leaving the Turin giants.
This could be a blessing in disguise, even though the striker has a decent scoring record during his time in Italy. The 30-year-old would have been a risky signing considering the intensity of the English league. Moreover, sending Morata away, who has just one English season under his belt, could have been a bit harsh.

Sarri should be given the chance to work with the Spanish striker and who knows, the Italian might end up getting the best out of Morata and we might see a number of goals coming from him next season.
