Chelsea target Stefan Savic will not be sold by his club Atletico Madrid presently, according to reports from Spain. AS (h/t The Express) claims that even though manager Diego Simeone is happy to let go of the former Manchester City defender, the club want to hold onto him and not let him go on the cheap.
The report claims that this could be due to the fact that finding a replacement for Savic would not be cheap and there is another club interested in the 27-year-old central defender.
Juventus want to sign the former Premier League defender and that could lead to a bidding war between the two clubs.
Savic was being eyed as a potential transfer of Maurizio Sarri and this could have been the end of the road for David Luiz.
Savic played 36 games for Atletico across all competitions but he would certainly play more games at Chelsea if he becomes a starter under Sarri.
This news of Atletico holding onto Savic would come as a major blow to us as we do need to have a few fresh faces under the new manager. There’s a need for new energy in the club and we would have to back the manager in the transfer window.
However, we do have a decent relationship when it comes to signing players from Atletico Madrid and sending them back.

We have done the same with Diego Costa and Filipe Luis in recent years and Savic could be another player who could make the trip from Madrid to London to play as a Blue.
