“We can go there and do a great job” Chelsea star upbeat ahead of huge clash vs Manchester United

The star for Chelsea in their 1-1 draw against Barcelona in the Champions League, Willian, has come out and said that the Blues will be a different team when they face former manager Jose Mourinho and Manchester United at the weekend.

The game will be played at Old Trafford and is one of the clashes of the season as both sides look to finish in the top four. We are just three points behind the Red Devils and a big win could even see us climb above our rivals into second place.

We did play a defensive game against Barcelona in the Champions League and let the opposition hold close to 70% possession but Willian is confident about performing well this weekend, even if the game is at Old Trafford.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Brazilian said:

“We have confidence. We can go there and do a great job again against Manchester United. I think it’s going to be a different game from this one here [against Barcelona], but I think we can go there and win this game.

“We go [to Barcelona] in three weeks’ time and we have difficult games as well in the Premier League. Now we have to think about the games coming and then we have to think about Barcelona.”

A Big Match That Can Decide Our Final Position This Season

Not many would have expected us to come out with a draw against Barcelona but we did do a pretty good job and even if our season has been a bit hit and miss, the result should give us a lot of confidence going up against United.

The Red Devils themselves aren’t doing all that great and will look to stay second in the table by at least drawing the game against us. Willian might have a point here as we didn’t start with Alvaro Morata or even Olivier Giroud against Barcelona and that is an option we could try out at Old Trafford.

Mourinho might know a lot about this Chelsea team but one thing is certain – Antonio Conte isn’t someone who does poorly in big games and this could be another chance for him to show his acumen in reading the opposition well. Plus, we have a fit and ready to go Willian, who is in great form right now.
