Antonio Conte is still managing Azzuri and so far the Blues have not signed any new player into the squad for the upcoming transfer window. While Chelsea are waiting patiently for their manager to return, Conte is not oblivious to the happenings at the Stamford Bridge.
According to the reports from the Sun, Chelsea manager is looking to bring in a new goalkeeper thus making Thibaut Courtois and Asmir Begovic’s future at Chelsea uncertain. Reports suggest that the Italian manager is looking out for Egyptian goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shenawy, who has impressed in the international scenario and at his club Zamalek last season. Reports suggest that the Blues are preparing a £3m bid for the player. The shot-stopper has just one year left on his current deal and could therefore be sold on the cheap rather than allowed to leave on a free next year.
Further into the transfer, Chelsea target Alvaro Morata has reportedly warned his current club Real Madrid (after they used their buy-back clause to buy him form Juventus) that if they intend to keep him at the Spanish club, he will stay only if he is given regular first team chances or else he will move on and search for a new club. The striker has told the side he wants to be involved in the first-team on a regular basis and “feel important” or he will be looking to be on the move once again. Morata scored seven times in Serie A this season.
Chelsea are set to battle it out against Everton so as to bring Axel Witsel into the Stamford Bridge this summer. The Blues have failed in their pursuit to sign Roma midfielder Rajda Nainggolan and are now looking out for Witsel as an alternative measure, and thus are set to steal a deal that the Toffees were confident of securing for themselves. The Toffees were confident in their efforts to sign the 27-year-old from Zent St Petersburg, but the Blues are now discussing a move for Witsel.
