Fans Will Love This – Man Thought To Leave Chelsea Will Remain And Has Been Talking To Club Legends About It

Chelsea’s last season interim manager Guus Hiddink has confirmed that he will remain at Chelsea next season in an advisory role.

The Dutch manager took over the Blues in December 2015 after Jose Mourinho was sacked, and managed to keep Chelsea in the top half of the table, but now, he will be replaced by the upcoming Italian manager Antonio Conte.

Hiddink reveals that he has already spoken to Blues legends Didier Drogba and Petr Cech about the possibility of returning to the club after they consider their retirement.

“Last week I spoke to Drogba. I’ve spoken to Peter Cech. These are what they call ‘legends’ in England,” Hiddink told Dutch TV.

“Those guys have had such an impact at this club. This club is old, but have only been at the top level for 10, 15 years.

“Those older guys, with a good heart, feel a lot of the club. They can mean a lot. If they have said goodbye to football, and they’ve transitioned well, one of them would like to do the commercial side of things, another might want to become assistant-manager, another might want to do something in scouting… you could really use those guys.”
