It is difficult to survive at a club when a player is not in the same wavelength with the fans in terms of affection for the club. Enter Thibaut Courtois. The goalkeeper has been appreciated by the Chelsea fans but the fans probably never been able to be too affectionate to him because he had replaced their beloved Petr Chech.
Also reports of the player making shameful and derogatory comment about his current club definitely not bringing him any closer to the fans. According to Mundo Deportivo, the player has told Michael Emenalo that he wants to leave Chelsea to join a “winning club”. While this news will not bode well with the Chelsea fans the club has decided to offload him for a fee of €63m in the summer.
While it makes sense to sell a player who is not interested to play for the club, it is difficult to fathom anyone paying that amount for Courtois. Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG are the only probable clubs.
