Clubs all across the Europe has sat up and taken notice of Antoine Griezmann as the 24 year old has one of the major reason why Atletico Madrid has done well this season. The current release clause of the player is £62 million and the club wanted to renew his contract to increase the amount to £115 million. But the player has refused to renew under those terms as per AS.
The report from Spanish media says that Atletico was trying to discourage any bid for the player in the summer. But given that the Rojiblancos are not able to renew the release clause has given Chelsea a clear chance to trigger the clause.
The Blues are desperate to regain their title next season and a player of Griezmann’s caliber will definitely go the long way. There will be competition from the likes of Manchester Untied and Real Madrid who are also said to be interested in the player.
