The Belgian Pit bull vs The Bosnian Playmaker: Who Is A Better Transfer Option For Chelsea?

Radja Nainggolan vs Miralem Pjanic

As the new season is approaching, transfer rumours are here for the summer. As always, many names are linked to Chelsea FC throughout the year. Some have truth attached to it while others are just plain lies.

Antonio Conte is rumoured to be the prime contender to be the Chelsea boss next summer. It is said that the board and the Italian’s representatives are in an advanced stage of negotiations. Chelsea need an overhaul in the squad and it is obvious that Conte will want to bring fresh faces to the team.

The latest rumour that has surfaced in the recent days is that Antonio Conte wants to bring Radja Nainggolan and Miralem Pjanic from AS Roma to the Bridge. But it is unlikely that the Roman side will let two of its biggest stars go in one window.

If Chelsea really gets in the pursuit of the duo, then it will be tough for Roma to get hold of their two superstars. Realistically, Chelsea do not need both of them in the next season.

Let us compare both of them and see which is more suited and required to make Chelsea a better team :

Radja Nainggolan:

Radja was born in Antwerp and had a tough upbringing. He has fought his way to the stage where he is at the moment. He started his career in Italy and is now looking himself to test in the Premier League.

Nainggolan is a defensive midfielder in more or less a Matic mould. He is renowned for his crunching tackles and interceptions and his passing has improved since his move to As Roma.

Endless energy and work rate are the things associated with Roma’s midfield pit bull. Though he is a tough tackler his presence on the ball is impressive. His tough talk and similar play has gathered many fans for the Belgian.

Radja Nainggolan averages 2.6 tackles and interceptions per game and has an assist to his name this season. Many clubs are keeping an eye on him and it is already getting tough on Roma to keep hold of him financially.
It will be better for the Belgian if he gets a move away from the Roman side.

Miralem Pjanic:

The Bosnian international is a deep-lying playmaker who has come under the radar of all the big clubs in the past year.

Pjanic is in fine form this season and has scored 7 goals and 5 assists this season. He is one of Europe’s finest free kick takers and is one player who will improve any team he will go into.

In the preseason tour, he scored from his own half against Man United. He is a gifted individual with an impressive passing range and breathtaking dribbling skills. Real Madrid and Barcelona are after him and it will be a tough ask to sign the Bosnian.

It is pretty certain that Eden Hazard will leave Chelsea this summer. Hence, it will be important not to reduce the attacking flair that will be required for regaining the lost spot in the top 4.

Miralem Pjanic can become an integral part of Antonio Conte’s team at Chelsea and is one talent that should not be lost to other clubs.
