Last week we brought you the news that Antonio Conte is the favorite to be the new Chelsea manager when the season ends. Now Gianluca di Marzio has insisted that the discussion between Conte’s agent and Chelsea are to continue in London regarding a deal and it will be finalized by Thursday.
Additionally Gazetta dello Sport has said that Conte and Emenalo, Chelsea’s sporting director were in close proximity at Turin to watch Juventus match and a deal in principle is already agreed upon between the two parties. A few details will be ironed out today and tomorrow and we may get an official announcement by Friday this week.
The only other manager who was supposed to be in the race is Diego Simeone as the third shortlist, Massimiliano Allegri is said to be renewing his contract at Juventus. Roman Abramovic may take some time but a deal can be signed between the parties as early as tomorrow.
