Blues to move for Mario Gomez

It is believed that Chelsea will make a  £34m move for Bayern Munich’s German star Mario Gomez in January.

Should Torres’ woes continue over the next couple of months it is expected that Blues boss André Villas-Boas will make his move for the highly-rated striker.

Gomez, has only been at Bayern since 2009, when he moved for the huge fee of £26m from Stuttgart. Like his club, his personal season has started very well – He has scored eight goals in five games.

Whilst Torres did score in last weekend’s loss to Manchester United he did miss an open-goal. In his last performance whilst there was that infamous miss, there were signs of him showing his ‘previous’ self, which has given Blues’ fans hope.

  1. No truth in this speculation. Mario Gomez is not our type of player. He would struggle in the Premiership. I see a similarity in his style of play to that of Darren Bent. If we proceed to make a bid for him, this will be another waste of money!
