Newcastle United are believed to be keen bring Yossi Benayoun to St James Park, as the North East club looks to continue to rebuild.
Reports in the Daily Mirror, suggest the ex-Liverpool player could be set to leave Stamford Bridge after an unsuccessful debut season.
Not that it was the Israelis fault as he missed most of the season after rupturing his Achilles, ironically against Newcastle as they beat Chelsea 4-3 in the League Cup.
Only yesterday it was reported that Benayoun could be used as bait as part of a possible deal for Croatian star Luka Modric.
With the Blues haiving paid £5.5million last season, they would be keen to recoup a large percentage of that fee.
